DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT -
CONCOURSE

In 1990, Sorcar Engineering, Inc. was commissioned to perform the lighting design for the world’s largest concourses in Denver. Sorcar engineering married energy-efficiency with lighting artistry to illuminate DIA concourses that in total exceeded the length of five Sears Towers. In the interiors, the design carefully wove electrical lighting with day light – all controlled by an intelligent low voltage switching system which automatically sheds electrical lighting to interact with daylight. Outdoor, Sorcar Engineering implemented glare-free apron lighting to aid ground crew and pilots in safe docking at the gates. The $910,000,000 project was completed in 1992.
